| World Cup Day Twelve Oh dear. Another night of having to politely refuse people trying to force-feed me saucers of that black, gloopy liquid. My new Irish friends were all out in Suwon, drowning their sorrows but we had a pretty good time in the end.
It's some funny place, I can tell you. All a bit highbrow for my liking. It's famous for its World Cultural heritage site Fortress Hwaseong, as well as for being the home of tech companies like Samsung. It's a bit like a mixture of Seattle and Camberwick Green.
One thing I did like, though, was the local delicacy: roasted ribs. Think like the sweet 'n' sour gear from your local takeaway, but about a 100 times nicer. Very good indeed. And sort of comfort for those who feel a bit homesick.
Not that this would apply to a bad boy international jetsetter like myself, of course.
I watched Brazil today and I have to say that those guys are my kind of cats. Cool, sleek, skilful: I reckon it's going to be one hell of a match on Friday. I can't wait!
Talk to you real soon, amigos!
Tom
